Overview

Discover the Soul of Plješevica

The mountains of Bosnia and Herzegovina are simply breathtaking. Each one is a unique and authentic jewel of nature, impossible to compare—because every peak tells its own story.

At Explore Bosnia, we don’t view mountaineering as a sport. There’s no competition, no race to the top. Instead, hiking is a restorative journey—an active form of rest that, despite the physical effort, fills you with strength, peace, and joy. That’s what hiking means to us.

About Plješevica:

Plješevica is a majestic mountain that stretches northwest to southeast, mostly located in Croatia, with a portion extending into Bosnia and Herzegovina. It’s part of the Dinaric Alps and is cloaked in dense forest, offering a serene and wild escape.

Significant peaks include:

  • Ozeblin (1,657 m) – the highest point with panoramic views
  • Gola Plješevica (1,648 m) – dramatic and rugged
  • Kremen (1,591 m) – peaceful and forested
