You will walk beside waterfalls, taste mountain cheese prepared by shepherds, search for wild truffles with trained dogs, picnic along pristine rivers, and explore medieval towns shaped by Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian influence.

Itinerary

Day 1 — July 13 – Kozice Waterfalls & Prokoško Lake

Difficulty level: Easy (well-marked forest path, uneven terrain in some sections) Drive to Kozice Waterfalls: approx. 1h 30min Begin your day with a morning pick-up at your Pino Nature Hotel on Trebević Mountain. Leaving Sarajevo behind, enjoy a scenic drive toward central Bosnia’s lush highlands. Arrive at the peaceful Kozice Waterfalls, hidden within dense forest near Fojnica. A pleasant woodland trail leads to a sequence of cascading waterfalls, surrounded by moss-covered rocks and untouched greenery. The walk to the falls takes about 20–30 minutes each way along a shaded path. After enjoying the waterfalls and taking photos, continue the journey. Next stop is Prokoško Lake. Drive time from Kozice to Prokoško Lake: approximately 1 hour 15 minutes (final section on mountain road). Prokoško Lake Difficulty level: Easy to Moderate (uneven terrain in some sections, mostly gentle) Arrive at the stunning Prokoško Lake, located at 1,636 meters above sea level on Vranica Mountain. The alpine scenery opens dramatically, revealing a glacial lake encircled by traditional wooden shepherd huts. Enjoy a relaxed walk around the lake, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and observe traditional highland life. Included tasting of homemade mountain cheese with local shepherds. Drive time back to hotel: approximately 2 hours. Total Tour Duration: 8–9 hours

Day 2 — July 19 – Herzegovina Cultural Highlights

Overnight: Konjic Outdoor Resort Drive to Mostar: approx. 1h 30min Pick Up at Konjic Outdoor Resort and travel south toward Herzegovina where Mediterranean influences shape the landscape. In Mostar, stroll through cobbled streets toward the iconic Stari Most bridge, originally commissioned in 1557. Learn about its dramatic history and enjoy panoramic views over the Neretva River. Lunch is served at a traditional Herzegovinian restaurant featuring grilled meats, trout, seasonal salads, and homemade bread. Blagaj: 20 min drive – Visit the Buna River spring and the 15th-century Dervish monastery. Počitelj: 30 min drive – Explore the medieval stone village and climb narrow stairways. Kravica Waterfalls: 30 min drive – Relax beside the turquoise cascades. Return to Konjic: approx. 2 hours Total duration: 10–11 hours | Level: Easy to Moderate  

Day 3 — July 24, 2026 – Truffle Hunting & Forest Picnic

Overnight: Zemunice Knežević, Kola Drive to forest area: 30–45 minutes Pick-up at accommodation: approx. 08:30 Set out on a unique adventure into the oak and beech forests surrounding Kola. Accompanied by an experienced local truffle hunter and his trained dog, you'll explore the forest floor, learning how to locate these hidden culinary treasures. Discover the fascinating process of truffle hunting and the skills that have been passed down through generations. Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the forest, listening to the gentle rustle of leaves and the chirping of birds, while tasting the flavors of the region. After the picnic, take a short walk back to your vehicle and return to accommodation, filled with memories of this rare and authentic experience. Day 4 – July 25 – Cvrcka River Canyon Hike & Riverside Picnic

Pick-up at accommodation Zemunice Knežević, Kola: approx. 08:30am Drive to trailhead: approx. 1 hour Spend a full day exploring the Cvrcka River Canyon between Kneževo and Kotor Varoš. Hike through emerald pools, waterfalls, narrow canyon passages, and past historic watermills. Pause for a riverside picnic. Continue along the upper footpath to enjoy panoramic valley views and visit the magical Vilenjska Vrela (Fairy Springs). Return to accommodation: approx. 17:00 Total duration: 6–7 hours | Level: Moderate

Day 5: July 26 – Travnik, Jajce, Pliva Lake & Vrbas Canyon

Overnight: Zemunice Knežević, Kola Pick-up at Banja Luka accommodation: 08:00 Begin your day with a scenic drive from Banja Luka along the winding Vrbas River Canyon, passing dramatic cliffs and dense forests. Ascend over Vlasic Mountain, enjoying panoramic views of central Bosnia’s lush landscapes, before arriving in the historic town of Travnik. Known as the “city with a thousand springs,” Travnik was first mentioned in 1463 and boasts a striking Ottoman-era fortress and charming old town streets lined with colorful architecture. Take time to stroll through the historic center and imagine life in this centuries-old town. Continue through the Vrbas Canyon via Donji Vakuf and arrive in the enchanting town of Jajce, nestled where the Pliva River meets the Vrbas River. Explore the breathtaking Pliva Waterfall, a striking cascade right in the town center, and wander along the Pliva watermills, historic wooden structures reflecting the town’s rich heritage. Take in the serene beauty of Pliva Lake, a perfect spot for photos and a moment to relax. Enjoy a traditional lunch in Jajce before setting off on a scenic drive through the Vrbas River Canyon. Stop at Krupa na Vrbasu, a small riverside town known for its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere, before returning to Banja Luka.
