Itinerary

Day 1Visit the stunning city of Banja Luka

Our journey starts in Banja Luka with a pick-up from the Banja Luka international airport or from your accommodation (hotel).
Banja Luka is the second-largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, known for its beautiful architecture, multicultural cultural monuments, parks, and stunning nature. It is a home of great cuisine, cevapi, cheeses, beer breweries, welcoming locals, and vibrant nightlife. The package includes a sightseeing tour of the city, a visit to the Kastel castle, the Ferhadija mosque, and the Orthodox Church of Christ the Savior, and a hike to Banj Brda or Šehitluci, an oasis of nature at 260 meters with a beautiful view of the city. The trip also includes cruising on the Vrbas River by Dajak boat, one of Banja Luka’s signature traditions and an ideal way to see the city.

Day 2Spend the day at Bosanska Otoka, and its sandy beach Milincici, and river Una before heading to Cazin

The second part of the trip is all about relaxation, swimming, and good times. After a memorable visit to Banja Luka, we will head to Bosanska Otoka, with its exotic sandy beaches. We will spend the day at the famous beach “Milincici” swimming, sunbathing, or restaurant hopping. After a day spent in the warm sun and on the sandy beaches of the beautiful river Una, we will enjoy a late lunch and our local delicacy una trout. We will then head to Cazin, where we will spend the night.

Day 3On the third day, visit some of the best-preserved castles and fortresses in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the eco-villages, dine on the river Una, explore its islands, raft or rent an ATV or quads, and explore the region.

After sightseeing in Cazin city, we head to one of the best-preserved castles in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ostrožac, which dates back to the 13th century. We then head to the city of Bihac, which is located next to the beautiful river Una and has a rich culture and history. We will visit the Sokolacka fortress, which dates back to the 14th century, the eco-village of Natura Art, and the Japod Islands. This area is known for the pristine emerald river Una and its beaches and islands, white water rafting, the annual international rafting regatta, explore the region by ATV and quads, famous river trout, cevapi, organic honey cake, and Begova corba (soup). The heart-shaped Japod Islands will surely leave you breathless. After the islands of Japod, we return to Bihac for lively nightlife and an overnight stay.

Day 4The fourth day is all about those two spectacular waterfalls, National Park Una, and the picturesque towns of Martin Brod and Kulen Vakuf.

Hike through the largest National Park Una and explore two majestic waterfalls, Strbacki Buk and Martin Brod. After visiting the most famous Strbacki Buk waterfall, we will travel to Kulen Vakuf for fortress sightseeing and lunch. Finally, we will visit Martin Brod, a picturesque village with one of the national park’s grand waterfalls. The river Una flows through the village, creating stunning views and scenery and travelers can check out the locals’ unique eco-laundry system.

Day 5Visit the Royal Jajce, the only city in the world with a waterfall in the very center of town which also has a very rich cultural history and heritage.

Jajce is a royal city located at the mouth of the Pliva river with its lakes and waterfalls. It is the only city in the world with a waterfall in the very center of the city. The Old Town is a fortress from the 13th century and is home to several monuments, such as the Catacombs, Omer Bey’s house, the Old Town, the Church of St. Mary, the Temple of Mithras, and the Tower of St. Luke. Near the center of Jajce, there are national monuments of nineteen watermills, which the local population calls “Mlinčići”. They date from the Middle Ages. Unforgettable and stunning views with lunch on Lake Pliva.

Day 6Visit Travnik, the birthplace of the Nobel Prize winner, Ivo Andric and famous for cevapi and cheese. Sightsee the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun

We are heading to Travnik, a town from the medieval and Ottoman eras in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the birthplace of the Nobel Prize winner for literature, Ivo Andric. We will visit the Great Karst Spring, blue water’s source, and the museum of the Nobel Prize-winning librarian. We will have traditional Travnik cevapi for lunch and taste traditional “Luftina” coffee served with sweets and a cigar. On the way to Sarajevo, we will visit Visoko and its pyramids. The Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun is the world’s tallest pyramid, standing over 270 meters tall, and has three preserved sides: north, east, and west. Overnight stay in Sarajevo.

Day 7End of tour. Time to say goodbye.
